Sindh CM welcomes Chinese investment in Thar coal projectJanuary 18, 2014
Mr Syed Qaim Ali Shah CM of Sindh has welcomed Chinese Electric Power Construction Corporation SEPCO for its induction in investment in Thar Coal power project by making Joint Development Agreement with British oriented Oracle Power Company already engaged in execution of coal based power project of 600MW.
Mr Ali Shah said that while talking to the chairman SEPCO Electric Power Construction Corporation China Mr Liu Chaunming who called on him along with his delegation at CM House here on Thursday.
He said that all facilities incentives would be provided to his organization for easily execution and completion of its task of power generation essentially needed to Pakistan and Sindh to meet with power crises.
He added that Sindh has good potential of power generation by virtue of its coal reserves and wind corridor, and added that sooner or later, the Sindh province would be hub of power generation and it enable not only to meet the national requirements but also to export the energy to other countries.
He further added that SEPCO would not feel any difficulty as all ground work is almost completed. He advised the delegation to start their work as soon as possible.
